MOSTLY MUTTS ADOPTION PROCESS
1. The Application
Go to the Adoption Application link found under "Documents" on the home page. Copy the form and paste into a new email.
Fill out the adoption application completely and e-mail to FOREVERHOMES284@aol.com
OR you can mail it to Cheryl Hill, 284 Little Mountain Rd. Sunbury, PA 17801.
Please remember this shelter is staffed entirely by volunteers so may take a day or so until you receive a reply.
If you are making an inquiry before filling out application, please include your telephone number in your inquiry. Thank You.
After the application is reviewed by a Mostly Mutts member, you will receive
a call so that both parties have the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to the application.
Upon approval from the Mostly Mutts member that conducted the phone interview, a home
visit will then be set up.
3. Home Visit
Depending on your location, a home visit will be scheduled as soon as possible.
Once the home visit is completed by a designated member from Mostly
Mutts or another qualified rescue person in your area, and the " go ahead" is given
we will contact you to schedule an appointment to come to the shelter.
4. Visiting The Shelter
During your visit at the shelter, we will personally guide you around the property to see our fur-kids.
You will be able to take a dog for a walk through many of the wonderful trails we have and get to know him/her.
If you don't already have your eye on one particular pooch, we recommend that you walk a few to see
which loving dog will be best suited for your family and your life style.
5. The Follow-Up
After the adoption has been completed, generally the person that has been working with you through
the adoption process will do a few follow-up calls and or a home visit to see how everyone is
adjusting. After a reasonable amount of time has passed, we may contact you and ask you if you would like to submit your
"Happy Tails" story and a picture of the new "Forever Family" that one of our fur-kids have found.
Note: If upon a return home visit (after adoption), we find that the dog is being mistreated in anyway,
such as tied up outside for long periods of time, kept outside permenantly, physically/mentally abused,
or neglected, we reserve the right to retrieve him/her at that time.
