Sponsor a Shelter Dog
There are some canine residents who, sadly, have lived all or most of their lives at Mostly Mutts. Some are older or "special needs." They are all known and loved by the volunteers, but they still deserve a chance at a loving home. Please consider adopting a special needs dog, or Click on instructions for sponsoring a dog. Donations go to the general shelter fund. If your Sponsored Dog is listed as either Adopted or crossing the Rainbow Bridge, you are welcome, if you wish, to choose another dog , or your sponsorship may be continued in honor or memory of your dog. Please be assured that your sponsorship makes it possible for many of our older "citizens" to remain healthy and happy... Thank you

Available Dogs -- please click the arrow next to the All Pictures View to go to the next page
Here are photos and information about some of the dogs that are available for adoption. Be sure to scroll to the bottom and click next for more photos. To learn about our adoption process, click on ADOPTION PROCESS AND ADOPTION APPLICATION under "Documents" on the left. Because "A RESCUED DOG SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO BE RESCUED TWICE," an interview, references, home visit, and adoption fee are required. If the dog isn't shown that you are looking for, please call Cheryl @ (570) 988-6483. She gets many phone calls a day about dogs available, we may be able to help you find a dog that way.

Happy Tails

Read the success stories and see photos and updates about the "graduates" of Mostly Mutts. While many stories listed here were submitted by volunteers who have adopted, we'll welcome stories from anyone who has a beloved family member who was adopted from Mostly Mutts. Please send your stories and photos to FOREVERHOMES284@aol.com. There is limited space, so your story may be edited to fit.

Mostly Mutts Rainbow Bridge
There have been some of our furry friends who have crossed over to the rainbow bridge from Mostly Mutts. Some were older dogs who were abandoned by their owners in their old age. Some were Cheryl's own personal dogs. All were known and loved by the volunteers.

Volunteers in Action
There are volunteers of all ages, varying physical abilities, and all walks of life. The rewards are endless!! Walking on the wooded trails is great exercise for both the volunteers and the dogs. The unconditional love and gratitude you get from the shelter residents is priceless! Here are some photos of volunteers in action... (you can change the view on the left with "select a view")

Walking Trails
If you love dogs, enjoy being outdoors, and appreciate the beauty of the mountains and woods...dog walking is the job for you. There are numerous trails on the approximately 9 acres that Mostly Mutts covers. Birds, squirrels, and even sometimes deer, can be seen on the walks through the woods. As is apparent in the photos, dogs are walked in all weather in all seasons. Notice the fresh green of spring and the snow cover of winter.

Upcoming Events
Check back often for updates. We have many events tentatively planned for the upcoming months. The adoption information events at Super Petz will continue on the 4th Saturday each month. We also plan to take dogs to Brookpark Pet Supply in Lewisburg one Saturday each month when the weather is nice. In addition, we are considering information stands (and a chance to meet some dogs) at area street festivals. If you'd like to volunteer at any event, contact Carol at 570-672-8610 or ssbnvet@verizon.net.
